I quickly noticed the sleek, cool looking design on the Kestrel 3000. I was a little skeptical that the new unit would be nothing more than a cosmetic gimmick, but I was wrong. I have to say this newer model looks way cooler than my older model, but, while cool looking is nice, (and we Storm chasers like to look cool) I found the new design was also easier to handle. When you first pick it up you instantly notice how it just slips into place in you hand giving it a very natural feel, like it belongs there. So the cool look has some nice functional aspects to it that I love and do improve the overall handling experience. Then the added rubber to the unit in-case it might be dropped, (real world this happens), was also a very welcome improvement. All the improvements have made an excellent product even better.

My small industrial hygiene consulting firm owns 4 Kestrel 3000s. We've used thses instruments almost daily for over 7 years. They perform flawlessly and can take the wear and tear of our field work. I've recommended the Kestrel instruments to eveyone that is interested in capturing weather info.

I'm in the military (Cdn Airforce) & have seen these devices in use by different trades. I have wanted one for a while to use when I set up Professional Fireworks Displays. After reviewing the features, this model will best suit my Pyro needs & other activities (Road Race Cycling, Scuba Diving, Kayaking, Sailing, Skydiving, and Flying - Yes, I do them all). It should be the best bang for my $. Can't wait for it to arrive.

This Unit is alot quicker to use on a incident then to use the old style sling method to gether much needed info during Fire fighting activity in the Wildland Setting, had my kestrel 3000 for five years and still love it and still in good shape from all the heat and water is get from Fire Fighing activity, It takes what ever you give it and keeps on giving back . Good Product , Highly recommended , especially for Fire Dept. in WildLand Settings

I 'm from Brazil. I use the Kestrel 3000 to give my morning weather report from the summit of Pikes Peak. The Kestral is it's own weather station and allows me to give an accurate report.

I have used my Kestrel 3000 for the last seven years. It is an invaluable tool for golfers as it not only tells you the weather conditions in which you are playing but the wind speed is a critical information for shot selection. While it is not approved for tournament play, it is a great addition to the weekend golfer's tool chest.

I have just returned from a wild land strike team deployment in southern California. On my way out the door I was handed a Kestrel 3000. I had never seen one before. I was able to easily, quickly and accurately monitor weather conditions in the field. Weather conditions have a huge influence on fire behavior and I can tell you that the Kestrel 3000 kept us right on top of that data.

This is my third Kestrel. All of them still work. I have had to replace the impeller on one. I have dropped them in the water with no problems. I use one in my motorhome for local weather. It has been across the United States

Bad weather can be unpredictable for a driver, especially if you don't know it's coming. With the Kestrel 3000, you can become an amateur meteorologist. The handheld instrument reads the relative humidity, heat stress index, dew point temperature, wind chill, wind speed and temperature, all clued to bad or good weather. (12/04)
